RANKING OF UNIVERSITIES

When talking about the ranking of universities in world lists, it is important to emphasize that in addition to the Shanghai list (Academic Word Ranking University List – ARWU list), which is considered one of the most influential, there are other relevant lists such as: Taiwan list (eng. National Taiwan University Ranking), URAP list (Eng. University ranking by Academic Performance), US NEWS list (Eng. Best Global Universities badge), SIR list (Eng. The SCImago Institutions Rankings) and CWUR list (Eng. Center for World University Rankings) , The most common ranking criteria are the number of winners of various prestigious awards (e.g. Nobel Prizes), research productivity and excellence, citations, international cooperation, quality of teaching, research reputation and social impact.

According to the lists of CWUR, SIR and URAP, the University of Belgrade is in the first 10% of ranked universities. The scientific results achieved in the fields of: dentistry, veterinary medicine, physics and astronomy, food engineering, zoology, metallurgy and traffic science and technology contributed the most to this success. The university is also highly ranked in the US NEWS list (422nd place out of 2005 ranked universities); ARWU-Shanghai List (301-400 out of 2000 ranked universities).
