The Barcelona Supercomputing Center would like to inform you on the recent opening of the third call of its international postdoctoral programme, called STARS (SupercompuTing And Related applicationS Fellows Programme) and cofunded by the H2020 MARIE SKŁODOWSKA-CURIE COFUND Plan. STARS programme aims at fostering the training of highly skilled post-doc in all fields of High Performance Computing and related applications. This initiative is part of COFUND call of the Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions within the Horizon 2020 Programme. The programme will award 20 outstanding post-doctorate researchers of all nationalities with 24-month INCOMING fellowships, providing them with all necessary tools for developing their potentials, deepening their skills and knowledge in a stimulating, international and interdisciplinary environment, and offering them intersectorial short secondments (1-3 months) with private industry or non-academic research centres (such as Lenovo, CISCO, AstraZeneca, IBERDROLA, EU JRC, AEMET, IRB and CRG in order to boost their career perspectives as successful independent researchers. Short secondments periods under the premises of these partner institutions will take place within the STARS programme. Fellows will also be strongly encouraged to participate at least once a year in an international event in their domain of research. This call will award up to 6 fellowships. This third call for application is open until the 14th of July 2020 at11PM CET.

We have a small number of partially funded opportunities for short and longer-term research visits at the School for Visiting Fellows and Visiting Scholars. The purpose of the Visiting Fellow (three months) and Visiting Scholar (2-4 weeks) Schemes is to enhance the vibrant research culture of the school, develop and promote links with other universities and scholars, provide staff and research students at SSEES the opportunity to learn from and work with scholars outside SSEES, and offer external academics the opportunity to carry out research at SSEES as well as initiate and continue collaborations with our staff.
We welcome applications from post-doctoral researchers, early- and mid-career and senior academics from a variety of disciplines, including anthropology, critical studies, economics, film studies, history, literature, political science, sociology, and Slavonic studies.
There are two deadlines: 15 February for visits taking place September-December the following academic year, and 15 August for visits taking place January-June.
